Documentary recording of "The Social Harp Sing," a participatory singing event held at the University of Georgia in Athens to commemorate the republication of "The Sacred Harp" shape-note songbook, 4 March 1973. Participants included Hugh McGraw, J.C. Kendrick, John Garst, Harry Dumas, Robert John, Lee Jones, Susan Hamrick, Anthony Pritchard, Mrs. J.C. Kendrick, E.G. Akin, Jennifer Garst, who were Anglo-American shape- note singing leaders from the southern United States; and many Sacred Harp shape-note singers.
